(27th January) Denham Lagoon - Shark Bay
From Kalbarri we headed to our most northerly stopover on the West Coast. The first night we stopped at Denham at the top of the Shark Bay peninsula. Mike had hoped to windsurf here but after talking to a couple of windsurfers, he discovered that the water was full of sting rays and weed so decided it wasn’t worth it! We discovered the Little Lagoon just outside Denham, which is a salt water lake with venomous stonefish in it. Despite this, it looks picturesque and we spent an evening here watching the sunset. We cooked up dinner and sat in the van, backed right up to the water’s edge. There wasn’t a soul around as usual (it is off season here which is perfect for us!) so we had a very tranquil chill out after our long drive.
