(19th -20th March) Margaret River - On the water
Our first stop was Prevelly where the main Margaret River beaches are (the town is 10km inland). We stopped at Main Beach which Mike remembered coming to 10 years ago and this is the main windsurfing break. There is a big car park up at the top of the cliff and we parked the van so that we could sit in the back with the door open overlooking the sea. We had a lazy lunch watching the surfers and kitesurfers and then later a couple of windsurfers dicing with death amongst the 12 foot high booming waves, great to see. We then went on down to the Boat Ramp beach were there was a great little café. We walked out onto the cliffs. The winds were strong and very cool and the coastline was really rocky and craggy – quite spectacular.
