Maui Snorkelling - Hawaii
Round The World Trip Journal

(22nd June - 10th August) Maui Snorkelling
The snorkelling has been a mixed bag of goodies - some locations have been very murky, which isn't allowed in paradise! But some have been world class with crystal clear visibility. The highlight has been turtles, turtles and more turtles, Mike has swum with them about half a dozen times around the island and Jo joined him at a site called Five Graves one day and loved it too. Turtles are very chilled out, fascinating creatures (just like in Finding Nemo!)and not at all bothered by us humans flipping all around them. We were literally swimming 2 feet away from them. Oh, by the way, we could look but not touch as there are huge fines of thousands of dollars if you're caught! The best two spots for finding turtles on tap is Five Graves in Makena and Maluaka Beach in front on the Maui Prince resort, the latter is better overall as you get the whole package, toilets and showers, trees for shade and a stunning beach to relax on. Bliss!
