(23rd - 25th March) Pemberton - Campsite
How is it that we always seem to find wildlife around our campsites? The owner had told us to expect to see parrots flying around and that they could be quite friendly but we didn’t realise just how friendly! They are known as “twenty-eights” – apparently because that’s what their call sounds like but sounded more like “give us your bread!” Things started off quite gently with us hand feeding them while they stood on the barbecue top. But as you can see it got quite out of hand and they ended up stood all over us. Jo was covered in scratches again but this time all over her hands from little parrot claws grabbing hold as they perched there. Her advice is never to have your hair styled by a parrot – they don’t make very good hairdressers!
