(26th - 27th April) Sunshine Coast
By stark contrast to the peaceful Tin Can Bay we next drove along the Sunshine Motorway from Noosa down to Caloundra. We bypassed Noosa this time but came back to it later. This is a much more built up area with plenty of high rises and hugely popular as a holiday destination. We stopped at Coolum for lunch and watched the surfers (see photo of big beach) and then headed down to Caloundra (see photo of high rises in distance). From Caloundra we could also see the Glass House Mountains in the distance. It was just far too busy here for our liking so we headed inland along Steve Irwin Highway into the Glass House Mountains and overnighted at Beerwah.
